For: "Everything AI writes for me sounds generic, not like my brand."
Overview
What you're building
A voice guide built from your real writing — what you sound like, words you use and avoid, before/after examples — stored in a workspace so every draft starts in your voice.
Why this setup
AI defaults to generic because it has nothing else to go on. A voice guide extracted from your real writing, plus examples, is the most reliable fix. It lives in one workspace now, and can be reused elsewhere once proven.
The workflow architecture
AI workspace
Holds your instructions and reference files so you never re-explain.
Reference document
Voice guide with examples.
Reusable instructions
Apply the guide to every draft.
Your review
Read-aloud test.
You haven't picked a tool yet, so this kit is platform-neutral. Both Claude and ChatGPT support this setup.
| Claude | ChatGPT |
|---|---|
| Claude Projects: instructions + project knowledge files | ChatGPT Projects: instructions + uploaded files |
| Optional Claude Skills for reusing a format across chats (plan-dependent) | Personalization settings can hold short preferences |
| Paid plan needed for Projects | Plan determines Project and file limits |
Optional, advanced: once your voice guide is stable, Claude Skills can make it available across chats if your plan supports Skills. ChatGPT users can also add brief voice notes to personalization settings, but keep the full guide in the Project.
What to prepare
- □5–10 pieces of writing you're proud of (emails, posts, web copy).

Voice Extraction Prompt
Build the guide from your samples.
Below are samples of my writing. Analyze them and produce a VOICE GUIDE with: 1. Voice in 3 adjectives, each with "this, not that" (e.g. "warm, not gushing"). 2. Sentence habits: length, rhythm, use of questions, contractions. 3. Vocabulary: words I use often; words I never use. 4. Structure habits: how I open and close. 5. Three short before/after examples rewriting generic text into my voice. Base everything only on the samples; quote them as evidence. AUDIENCE: [ ] SAMPLES: [PASTE]
